RV WaterAid
Installation Instructions
You will find it an easy procedure to assemble the product. Once installed you will have filtered water to all of your faucets and shower.
Read and understand this entire instruction sheet before beginning.
Assembly Instructions
Step 1: You should have two manifold halves. You will also need a short hose (a four-foot garden hose is supplied when you buy the full kit), and two filters. (If you have bought your own filters rather than the full kit, you must ensure that the two filters are exactly the same length; otherwise, you may have trouble assembling your unit.) First lay all the pieces out on a table to get a look at the whole system.
Step 2: Remove the protective caps from the filter ends and screw the filters into the lower manifold. Do not tighten too hard or the rubber seals may split. (These seals are common garden hose seals and can be purchased at any hardware store for replacement if necessary.)
Step 3: Install the upper manifold to the tops of the filters, tightening the connectors to the filter 1/2 turn at a time until snug. The finished product should look like the following picture:
Step 4: Install the water supply hose to the input side of the filter system. Before plugging into your RV or boat, turn the water on and let it run to flush out the loose carbon particles, until you see clear water coming out of the filter system.
Step 5: Attach one end of the short hose to the output side of the filter manifold, and connect the other end of the hose to the city water connection of your RV or boat.
Step 6: Check for leaks. (Over-tightening the components can split seals and cause leaks.) Remove the garden hose seals if necessary to check for dirt or damanged seals. Clean and replace as required.
Helpful Tips
- Be sure that the garden hose seals are in place and in good repair.
- Place the filter assembly where it won't get damaged, or damage your vehicle's attachments. We recommend you either hang the assembly on a hook (see the following picture), or lay it on the ground.
- Do not install the filter system where water damage to your vehicle is possible.
- When not in use over a long period of time you should disassemble the filter system to let it dry out.
- Replace the filters when needed.
